Elizabeth May, leader of Canada's Green Party, speaks to Garth Frizzell and the students of CNC about micro- and macroeconomics...

This video was taken in June 2018 when I was in Halifax for the Annual Conference of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.  During that weekend, the leaders of the federal political parties (Justin Trudeau Liberals, Andrew Scheer Conservatives, Jagmeet Singh NDP, and Elizabeth May Greens) all spoke to the 2000+ municipal leaders from across Canada.  In addition, the FCM executive each year gets to meet with the leaders to talk about the critical issues for municipalities, like funding for infrastructure, housing, the impact of cannabis legalization, etc..

At the time, I was midway through teaching a course to my College of New Caledonia students in both Microeconomics and Macroeconomics. I mentioned that to Elizabeth May and asked her during a 5-minute break if she would do a video stream to the students back in Prince George.

She immediately agreed, and the linked video was the result, which I played to students back in Prince George, BC.

Even when FCM has a critical agenda, and there are national points to discuss, it's important to know these leaders are people too and are willing to respond to your keen interest to bring even the most complex trade issues into a format that will be meaningful back home.
